What is a live action video?
A live action video is a type of video that captures real-life events, people, or objects on camera – rather than using animation or computer-generated imagery. It involves filming real people, scenes, or objects in real-time, and it’s a great way to show things how they really are – building trust, relatability and credibility.
What are the main types of live action video?
Live action videos are all around us! On an everyday level this includes things like films, television shows, documentaries and commercials. For businesses, a particularly useful application for live action production is testimonial videos. These allow businesses to showcase their happiest customers, so they can explain their positive experiences in their own words. Why use live action video?
Firstly, live action video creates a sense of authenticity and connection with the audience, allowing businesses to establish trust and credibility. They can effectively showcase products, services, and company culture, helping to engage and captivate viewers. They also provide an opportunity to convey emotions, tell compelling stories, and evoke a personal connection with an audience in the way that can only really happen with real life people.Live action video examples

How much does live action video cost?
This can vary significantly depending on several factors. There are so many variables to filming this kind of video – casting, site location scouting, equipment rental, crew size, post-production editing, visual effects and more. Factors like the length of the video, quality, and production team experience also come into play. You can create live action video fairly cheaply on a DIY basis – but to hire a creative team to film and be confident of a great finished product, you’re likely to be looking at a price tag of at least a couple of thousand dollars. How long should a live action video be?
In the entertainment sphere, live action films can be, and often are, north of an hour long. But for businesses, with a different audience – trying to sell or persuade rather than entertain – it’s a good rule of thumb to keep things short. A length of 1-2 minutes gives you enough time to get across the key points without losing your viewer’s attention. Can you incorporate animation and graphics into a live action video production?
Yes, of course! It’s increasingly popular and common to have a mixture of live action and animated video in one production. Our creative team are masters of both, and can achieve a great mix if that’s your chosen direction – animation, live action shots, stock video footage and anything else required to create a quality film that tells your story and does the job for your business.
How can live action video production benefit your business?
Live action video production can benefit a business in numerous ways. It’s a great way to tell your story, building trust and connection with the audience. It effectively showcases products, services, and company culture, leading to increased engagement and conversions. Live action videos can be used for brand awareness, customer testimonials, product demonstrations, and employee training, enhancing overall communication and outreach. By conveying emotions and capturing real-life experiences, live action videos create memorable and impactful content that helps businesses stand out in a crowded market and drive business growth. Our live action video production process
