AudioJungle Review 2024: Pricing, Features, and More!

Last updated on 9th January 2024

In this article we’re going to take a look at AudioJungle, covering everything from pricing, to features, customer support, and more.

Music and sound effects are such an important part of video marketing, and shouldn’t be underestimated. After all, just think about the impact of the soundtrack in your favourite movie.

Music and sound effects can help you tell your story with added emotion, and this can do wonders for the impact of your campaigns. According to Soocial, the success rate of emotional marketing campaigns is 31%, whereas the success rate of rational campaigns is around the 16% mark.

So, making sure you have the right soundtrack matters. With that in mind, let’s take a look at everything you need to know about AudioJungle in 2024.

TL;DR
AudioJungle is a site where people can source royalty free soundtracks and sound effects for their content. The site has a HUGE library, with over 2 million tracks to choose from. It’s easy to find your way around and you don’t need to sign up for a subscription. You can buy single tracks as and when you need them, with prices starting at $1.
Pros: 1. Easy to use
2. Huge library
3. No need to sign up
Cons: 1. The choice can be overwhelming
2. Customer service is quite slow to respond
3. It’s a popular site so some tracks may have already been used a lot

What is AudioJungle?

AudioJungle is just one of many products from Envato, a world-leading online community for creative assets, tools, and talent.

Envato was founded in 2006, with AudioJungle launching in 2008. AudioJungle is a place where people can download and purchase royalty-free music and sound effects for their content.

The company was founded by husband and wife duo, Cyan and Collis Ta’eed. Fun fact: the watermark for AudioJungle (that regular users will be oh-so-familiar with) was actually recorded by Cyan in the couple’s garage in Sydney, Australia. Here’s the recording:

For even more fun, here’s what the watermark might sound like if Collis had created that first recording:

The company has come a long way from those humble beginnings and now has over 1.5 million buyers on their platform. Music from AudioJungle has even been used in TV commercials for huge companies, like Toyota and Adidas.

Who is AudioJungle for?

AudioJungle is used by millions of people, with some creating and sharing music and others sourcing music for their productions.

With tracks starting from just $1, AudioJungle is a great place for anyone to source music, regardless of budget or project type.

And it’s not just for music. You can also use AudioJungle to search for the perfect sound effects and even musical logos and idents, to add more personality to your brand.

AudioJungle: Library size

The AudioJungle library is HUGE. There’s almost 2 million tracks and sounds to choose from, and they all come from a community of professional, trusted musicians and sound engineers.

The audio is split into different categories, and then within the categories music and sound effects are grouped by genre and mood. You can also search for a keyword to find music or sound effects that fit exactly what you’re looking for:

Each category is really easy to navigate and it’s great that AudioJungle tells you exactly how many tracks are available in every section:

If you require multiple tracks then you might benefit from buying a Music Pack or Music Kit. These are similar soundtracks that are grouped together for ease and value. Here are some examples:

As AudioJungle is a part of Envato, you’ll also notice complimentary services being offered at the top of the page, via different tabs. These services include stock photos, videos, and graphics.

If you require regular access to a comprehensive library of assets then it might be worth signing up for Envato Elements. This will give you access to everything – videos, photos, and the music and sound effects from AudioJungle – for one monthly payment.

AudioJungle: Music quality

Taking a look at their site, it seems that anybody can upload and sell tracks on AudioJungle. However, that doesn’t mean the quality is poor. There is an extensive review process that all tracks must go through before making it to the site, and this includes both technical and legal requirements.

When you find a song you like, you can listen to it in full and get a comprehensive list of track details before purchasing:

This information includes how many times the track has been bought previously, which can help inform your decision.

When you’re ready to purchase your chosen track, you can download it both as a WAV and MP3 file.

This means the quality and specs of the track should be ideal for whatever you have in mind, whether that’s some background music for your latest YouTube video or some sound effects for an explainer video production.

AudioJungle’s user experience

Front and centre on the AudioJungle homepage is the search bar. You can start your search here by typing in a keyword:

You’ll be shown results that match and then you’ll also have the option to filter your results. The filtering options are pretty extensive. You can filter by price, date added, length, top sellers, and more.

If you find a track you like, you can click on it for more information, including details about the author. You can also listen to similar tracks here and get information on how much they cost, without the need to leave the page:

If you’re not sure what to search for, AudioJungle makes it really easy to browse their catalogue. From the homepage, you can listen to featured tracks or check out those that have been recently added to the platform:

AudioJungle content is also split into categories to make it easy to narrow down your search. If you’re looking for sound effects, you can click on this category to begin:

From there, you can browse new or best-selling sound effects, or narrow your search down further by clicking into another category:

You can also use the search bar to find exactly what you’re looking for within each category!

Overall, we found AudioJungle very easy to navigate and came up against no issues along the way. The platform is well laid out, intuitive, and a joy to use.

AudioJungle: Licensing

Music on AudioJungle is split into 5 licensing categories, based on different productions:

As you can see, all licenses cover most web uses (such as using the tracks in videos hosted on YouTube). The limitations mainly relate to productions that will be viewed by mass audiences, like theatrically released films or DVDs and audiobooks that reach a certain number of users.

When it comes to sound effects, there are two different licenses:

These are pretty self-explanatory. The single use license allows you to use the sound effects purchased in one end product. The multi-use license allows you to use the sound effects in an unlimited number of end products.

AudioJungle makes licensing pretty simple and stress free. You can read up on each license in more detail here

AudioJungle: Pricing

Unlike some other stock audio sites, AudioJungle doesn’t require you to sign up to access their content. In fact, you can buy individual tracks as and when you need them, making this a great solution for startups and entrepreneurs who perhaps don’t have the income or the need for a more robust subscription service.

Even better, tracks start from just $1!

If you would prefer to sign up for a subscription, you can do that by signing up for AudioJungle’s parent company, Envato Elements. This will give you access to unlimited downloads of over 12 million assets. Not just music and sound effects, but presentation templates, videos, photos, and more. All from just €14.50 per month.

AudioJungle’s customer support

If you’re struggling on AudioJungle and need help, scroll down to the bottom of any page to find the link to the Help Centre:

This will take you to the Envato Market Help Centre (which is the parent company of AudioJungle). You can search for an answer to your question here:

The knowledge base answers are pretty comprehensive, but if you still require help you can submit a request and wait for a member of the support team to get back to you:

You’ll have to fill out a form and you’ll be gently directed to some suggested articles that may help with your question:

After submitting our question we received an automated ‘request received’ email and then waited for a response. At the time of writing, the Help Centre has a warning message that explains there could be a delay in response time:

So, we were expecting to wait up to 5 days for a response. We received an update 3 days later to let us know our enquiry hadn’t been forgotten about:

And then 3 days after that, we received our actual response:

The response was thorough and polite. And, while it did arrive 6 days later (instead of the promised 5 days), Envato did keep us up to date in between. We thought this was a nice touch and probably goes to show that they are genuinely busy during this time, rather than this being the norm for their response times.

AudioJungle: Final score

Our rating
AudioJungle has a huge library of soundtracks, is easy to use, and you aren’t tied to a monthly subscription! This makes it a great option for those looking for royalty free music and soundtracks to use in their content this year.
